ABSEN Member Re-create Win Senscot Den in November

The river was going to have to take them. The terrible twins had seen me at my most vulnerable and therefore would have to disappear into the Clyde never to share their secrets. Twenty craft workers had lent us a diverse range of products to assist in our presentation. They were depending on the Re-create team to not let them down. What a weight of responsibility! No wonder I was so nervous. Facing four dragons and an audience of 120 could not have been more daunting. It had been a long day, and by four thirty when the first of the victims faced the dragons and the audience, many would have been forgiven for not giving their full attention. I was victim number five. Would anyone still be awake? Three minutes to make my case. I’ve never known three minutes go so fast! Then questions! I had my phone a friend ready if anything tricky came up. Luckily not only the dragons but also the audience were really kind. Then it was over and we were able to relax till dinnertime. At what stage I fell off the wagon is lost in a fuzzy haze of red wine and results. Goodness we managed not only the dragon’s prize but also the audience vote as well. The winning was only possible with the support of all the local people in Tarbert, the Re-create steering group, the Absen members attending the Ceildih {especially Dave and Julie} and the terrible twins Marion and Shona Campbell, who not only supported me throughout but were willing to overcome extreme shyness to stand up in front of the audience and demonstrate our goods. The stage has now been set. Two years in a row ABSEN members have won the Dragon’s Den. Who is next? If any one plans to submit to the den next year {29th November} I am very willing to offer support and advice. Chris Rogan.
