Senscot Newsletter

Sencot have issued their first newsletter for social enteprises networks throughout Scotland. Read it below..

This is the first issue of monthly newsletter for the Local Social Enterprise Networks. Networks 1st will look to pass on information about what’s going on around the networks - who’s succeeding and how barriers are being overcome in different parts of the country. Senscot’s AGM takes place at the Quaker’s Meeting House in Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh on Wednesday 27th June between 12 and 2pm. John Swinney will be the keynote speaker.  We’d like to extend an invitation to members of the Social Enterprise Networks. It would be good for John Swinney to hear about the issues that you`re facing round the country. Please let Alison know if you’d like to come along. Contact Alison@senscot.net

Argyll & Bute SEN now have a part-time Support Worker – Mike Geraghty. Their website will be launched at the second ABSEN annual conference in Tarbert, on 14th June 2007. Guest speakers include Graham Bell (Kibble) and Antonia Swinson (SSEC).

Edinburgh SEN nominated Emma Galloway (Bethany) and Janet Barnes (Business in the Community) to sit on the Edinburgh LSEP. The LSEP are hoping that the Edinburgh SEN members will help deliver the Social Enterprise Strategy for Edinburgh.

 

New Networks are emerging in Clackmannanshire, Tayside and Moray. Inaugural meetings took place last month. Contacts are Anna Roscoe anna.cmee@kilncraigs.plus.com (Clackmannan), Moyra Gordon moyragordon@craigowl.com (Tayside) and Kevin McDermot kmcdermott@csv.org.uk (Moray).

 

Health SEN the second Social Enterprise and Health Improvement Conference will be held on 12th of September at the Trades Hall in Glasgow. The event is being supported by Communities Scotland and the Forum for Public Health and will also see the launch of a new thematic Network. If you`re interested in joining this Network, contact Neil McLean (Quit&Save) at neil.mclean@quitandsave.org.uk.

 

Networks 1st Reps Event. Senscot has been asked to explore how individual members feel the Network could develop. We will be emailing a questionnaire over the next few weeks and will be holding a meeting of LSEN representatives on the 29th August in Edinburgh.
